Space Farms: Zoo & Museum

Address: 218 County Road 519, Sussex, NJ 07461, USA

Zoo Museum

“Not like other zoos, this one is much more open, so small kids can also enjoy the animals from such a nice distance. Till now, I didn't see any tiger or lion from such an open area. There are picnic areas inside so anyone can bring their own food and enjoy it. At the entrance, there is a small cafeteria where you can find pizza and some other foods. Museums are also good.”

San Diego Animal Sanctuary and Farm by the Children's Nature Retreat Foundation

Address: 5178 Japatul Spur, Alpine, CA 91901, USA

Zoo

“What a wonderful place for all the animals. Our family enjoyed roaming the paths through the large enclosures. The black horse is amazing!! We love pigs, and there were several nice pig areas with big water holes. The peacocks are beautiful. There are places to rest and an area to picnic. Highly recommended!”

The Happy Heart Haven

Address: 30398 Vía Valencia, Valley Center, CA 92082, USA

Zoo

“We had such a fabulous experience on a private tour with Kristie. She is so passionate and loving with her animals. Kristie’s story is so tender and inspirational and she strikes just the right balance of sharing/teaching and with a fun experience. We loved meeting each of the animals and can’t wait to return and support the important works she’s doing to provide animals a sanctuary. Thank you Happy Heart Haven!”

Salmon Creek Greenway Trail

Address: Vancouver, WA 98685, USA

Zoo Park

“After a heavy breakfast it was a nice morning for a walk. Several trail heads to connect with the paved Salmon Creek trail. Along with the woodlands and sport fields, I noticed a disk golf course. None of the holes were near the creek though which would have made for a nice water hazard.”

Barefoot Creek Farm Mobile Petting Zoo

Address: 1100 Freedom Lane, Carthage, NC 28327, USA

Zoo

“We originally met Tracy with Barefoot Creek at our Sanford Farmers market back in 2020..I am OBSESSED with Sarah's goat milk soaps! Having kids with sensitive skin is grueling but her soaps always calm any irritation they have and keep our skin feeling clean but super soft! The farm is literally a dream! From the amazing goats, pigs, horses, chickens to the dogs they are all incredibly friendly and loving. My three girls had the best time. The owners are truly amazing, kind, hardworking folks and you can tell by having any sort of conversation with them they have the biggest hearts and love what they do! I can't wait to visit again and have the petting zoo out for a party! Can't wait til Saturday to re supply my soap addiction!!”

Address: 6232 East 29th St N, Wichita, KS 67220, USA

Snoqualmie Wildlife Area Cherry Valley Unit

Address: Duvall Monroe Rd NE, Duvall, WA 98019, USA

Park Zoo

“The key to enjoying this place is to not take yourself too seriously, and be courteous with others. If you see other people in the parking lot chat with them to avoid conflicts in the field. As one of the few pheasant release sites and dog training areas in the Seattle area, there are a ton of people hunting it every day of the season. Some folks use it to take kids out, others to get puppies some bird contacts, others just to get the dog some exercise. Most people you see here are friendly and cordial. Don't be the one guy that ruins everyone else's day.”

Jungle Island

Address: 1111 Parrot Jungle Trail, Miami, FL 33132, USA

Zoo Amusement park

“I recently had the pleasure of visiting Jungle Island with a group of friends, and I must say it was an absolute delight. Our main highlight was the incredible sloth experience, and our guide, Jose, played a pivotal role in making the entire visit truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived at Jungle Island, it was evident that the care and dedication put into the facility were exceptional. The lush greenery and vibrant flora created a stunning backdrop, immersing us in a tropical paradise. The attention to detail in maintaining a beautiful and well-groomed environment was evident throughout the park, adding to the overall charm of the place. Our guide, Jose, was the star of the sloth experience. From the get-go, his passion for the animals and his extensive knowledge were evident. He went above and beyond to provide us with a wealth of information about the sloths, their habitat, and their behavior. Jose's enthusiasm was contagious, and his ability to convey his love for these amazing creatures truly enhanced the experience. We loved Rico Suave and Flash, the cutest sloths ever. What made Jose stand out was not only his expertise but also his warm and personable nature. He took the time to interact with each member of our group, ensuring that everyone felt included and engaged. He patiently answered all our questions and shared fascinating stories about the sloths, making the encounter educational and entertaining at the same time. Jungle Island itself was a haven for nature enthusiasts. The animals were well taken care of, and their habitats were well designed. It was heartening to see the dedication of the staff in providing a safe and comfortable home for the animals, and their commitment to conservation was evident throughout the park. Beyond the sloth experience, Jungle Island offered a diverse array of animal exhibits that captivated our attention. From exotic birds to reptiles and mammals, there was something for everyone. The opportunity to witness these magnificent creatures up close was truly awe-inspiring and left us with a deep appreciation for the wonders of the animal kingdom. In conclusion, my visit to Jungle Island was a truly fantastic experience. The combination of a beautiful setting, well-cared-for animals, and knowledgeable guides like Jose made it an unforgettable adventure. Whether you're a nature lover or simply looking for an exciting and educational outing, Jungle Island is a must-visit destination. I can't recommend it enough, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit to explore more of the captivating wildlife and natural beauty that Jungle Island has to offer.”

Ralph E Simmons Wildlife Management Area

Address: 32046, Hilliard, FL 32046, USA

Zoo Park

“Great spot on the river. A bit of a hike to camping site. However, I Do not recommend for those who are afraid of the dark. Saw and heard very very creepy stuff. In the Middle of the night I swear I heard something that sounded like a screaming banshee and tons of shadow figures. Ghost hunter paranormal hot spot for sure. (Wasn’t expecting that!)”

San Diego Zoo Safari Park

Address: 15500 San Pasqual Valley Rd, Escondido, CA 92027, USA

Zoo Park

“Our absolute favorite place to visit. Doesn’t feel as crowded as San Diego Zoo since it’s much bigger. Many animals to see and explore. Great trails for walks with amazing views. If you are local, membership purchase is definitely worth it. Plus, with every visit you are helping animals! Have fun!”

Highland Horse Farm

Address: 5118 Cattail St, Middleburg, FL 32068, USA

Zoo Travel agency

“The experience was really fun and the people were super nice and hospitable, they gave me fresh eggs, water, and a popsicle with no extra charge! The only downside was one of their saddles gave me a bruise bc the ends were bent upwards and the horses were not used to exercising or experienced riders for a long period of time, but it was all worth it!! Their dogs were super friendly and lovable and their bunnies were soo cute❤️”

Fall City Wallaby Ranch

Address: 35303 SE Fish Hatchery Rd, Fall City, WA 98024, USA

Zoo Local government office

“Where else in the US can you drive 30min from a city to a Wallaby ranch?? My husband and I just visited for July 4th weekend and it was such a charming, wonderful, and educational experience. Turns out we both actually know very little about kangaroos so the video introduction we watched was really fun and informative. The owner clearly cares about his animals and is very knowledgeable (definitely bring any questions you can think of because he will enthusiastically answer everything). You can tell that he puts a lot of thought into caring for the ranch and into making these large group experiences memorable for every single visitor. Everyone has a chance to take personal photos, feed the roos, and pet them! I also can’t believe how clean he keeps the property. The animals are so happy and relaxed. It’s beautiful to see. If folks take the time to read the website and do a little research, setting up a time for a tour is actually really easy and straightforward (I would call during reasonable business hours - pacific time). The owner does a lot to make sure he can accommodate as many people’s schedules as possible, so it’s actually a little infuriating to see the recent spate of entitled 1-star tiktok reviewers from people who didn’t get what they wanted or couldn’t be bothered to be patient. Definitely come for a visit if you want a safe, educational experience and - do remember that this ranch is maintained by a very passionate, kind individual who really cares about his kangaroos. This isn’t a circus act and it’s a group experience where everyone should be able to learn/enjoy *together*.”

Aloha Safari Park

Address: 159 Mini Ln, Cameron, NC 28326, USA

Zoo

“Great time and memories for the entire family. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip. The animals were all so friendly and came right up to us. We spent several hours there. Highlights were the drive through safari and feeding Jeffrey the giraffe. My kids got to touch and interact with so many animals and jeffrey was such a good sport even enjoyed the scratches from the kids. The price was well worth it and buying the feed was to. We visited the gift shop which was very clean and well stocked with reasonably priced goodies. The restroom was very clean as well. Will be going back soon.”

SeaWorld San Diego

They have lots of aquatic animals including killer whale, dolphins, turtles, sharks, penguins sea lions etc etc. You can have interactions with the animals if you pay or can watch the presentation shows that are free with your entry ticket. There are lots of water rides too. Restrooms and eating stalls are packed throughout the campus. It's a perfect one day get away for kids and adults alike.”

Pettit Creek Farms

Address: 337 Cassville Rd, Cartersville, GA 30120, USA

“My friend & I drove to see their Southern Christmas Event! You travel by your car or opt for a hayride/a.k.a. a tram ride through their one Mile Christmas Light displays...we wanted to see the LIVE NATIVITY SCENE but it wasn't ON for last night! However, we definitely got our MONEY'S WORTH & MORE! So much was offered; different activities such as bungee jumping & interaction with their animals. Santa & his reindeer were there! I have to say...one of the most impressive thing about the evening was our meeting & being with one of the Pettit's family members, Logan Pettit, who became our TOUR GUIDE for the evening...just because he wanted to show us around?!..WOW, he told us about the animals on the farm & their interactions with people, he helped other folks as we walked around with him...being with him made our SOUTHERN CHRISTMAS...PRICELESS...he was so informative & excited to share...This young man was courteous, thoughtful, witty, & very bright to everyone he met...did I say he was only eleven?!...here's a few pics from last nite & one of them is Logan Pettit on a hay bale...just incase you are fortunate to meet him...”

Sierra Nevada Zoological Park

Address: 10200 N Virginia St, Reno, NV 89506, USA

Zoo

“Love , love, love our little Zoo. We take our grandchildren a few times a year. The cages are too small, the animals pace back and forth from boredom, and that's sad. But it's a nice little Zoo - they need money / help for improving. It's so much fun to feed the llama, goats, cow, and deer. Price is well worth a visit. Anymore, and we would stop going. They just really need money to help these animals ! To see some of the negative reviews on here really upset me. We go here quite often , the workers are always very friendly, very knowledgeable, very eager to tell my grandchildren about the animals and NEVER RUDE ! Read the negative reviews, but then read their other reviews- most are negative, unhappy people who enjoy complaining. I just wish people would donate !”

“This petting zoo was wonderful. The amount of animals available to pet is perfect for their time slots (1 hour). You have enough time to play with each animal and even go back through to visit some of your favorites. The animals are well behaved and very friendly. The owner and worker are super sweet and knowledgeable. And it’s extremely affordable. Definitely will make this a regular place to visit.”

California Living Museum

Address: 10500 Alfred Harrell Hwy, Bakersfield, CA 93306, USA

Zoo

“Great place to take out son. He loves going to see the animals and take the train ride. We enjoy it so much we decided to get a family membership which is also a great value at 60.00 for a family membership. That's 2 adults and up to 6 children. They don't have as many animals as other larger zoos but there are a good number. They have a small aquatics area with some Jellyfish, sea horses, and clams and abalone. They have an area for small children with some donkeys, a pony and various sheep. They also have a snack shack, picnic area, playground and gift shop. We also love going during the holidays for their holiday light show, it is one of the best we have gone too and has won some awards.”

You are able to get close to the animals (safely) and they have petting zoo and option to purchase feed for the animals. For $35 extra you can rent a golf cart to go around the cart which is a great option if your party can't make it the entire 4 mile loop. There is a playground and picnic area for eating as well.”
