“This park is absolutely stunning. Not your typical park, yet a welcome surprise. The land is beautiful, high on a hill, surrounded by trees and hills. The park offers many hiking trails that are miles long in the woods, over creeks and under a canopy. There is a Frisbee golf course throughout the front section. While there, I saw deer walking through the far end. The benches and shelters are perfectly placed to capture the breathtaking views of the sunset. This park is truly a hidden gem in Anderson. Please note, no playgrounds just your imagination here, and two portable restrooms. This is now my favorite park in Anderson. Stunning.”

It continues on its 84.9 miles journey flowing southward to Akron and Cuyahoga Falls, where it turns sharply north and flows through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park in northern Summit County and southern Cuyahoga County. “Nice park of historical significance near a bend in the stream "Paint Creek." This location is known by locals as "Devil's Backbone." Historically, the beautiful area and surrounding hills was a camp for Miami (Myaamia) people prior to white colonization of the area. Park Details: There are two short walking trails. The one to the left/north is longer and goes up a hill and the one to the right/south is short. A few garbage cans are available, but last time I visited the portapotty was gone (just mentioning as a precaution for those visiting). Gate is often closed during open hours, though. Open hours are daylight hours.”

The owner and his staff honestly made it even better with their kindness, generosity, and customer service. Looks like the have lots of upgrades coming for next season too. The cabins our friends got were gorgeous! Watch for specials, because they are honoring nurses right now and it was a great deal and special way to feel thanked. Golf carts are brand new and was a must for our big group. We enjoyed the RC track, the haunted walk and can't wait to come back in the summer to use the nice new pool! Thanks for the great trick or treat weekend!”

I had always heard about this park being near my house, but it wasn't until recently that I finally had the chance to explore it. And boy, was I impressed! The park is conveniently located near a local school complex, but don't let the traffic during the morning and afternoon rush hour deter you - there are multiple parking lots with plenty of space. Once I stepped out of my car, I was immediately greeted by a plethora of activities to choose from. There are walking trails that snake through the park, offering beautiful views of the surrounding scenery. There are also numerous scenic spots where you can stop and take in the natural beauty of the park. The wildflower garden is a particularly beautiful spot that is a must-see. If you're looking for something more active, the park has got you covered. There's an outdoor theater for live performances, a basketball court, a baseball field, and even a children's playground. And if you're looking to just relax and enjoy a nice picnic, there are plenty of picnic shelters and benches scattered throughout the park. The walking trail itself is paved and very well-maintained, providing a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Walking along the trail also offers the opportunity to observe the park as a whole and see everything it has to offer. Despite the park's popularity among the local population, there is always plenty of space to enjoy the various activities. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with this park and its offerings. It's definitely worth a visit, whether you're looking for an active day outdoors or just a peaceful picnic with friends and family. I can't wait to come back for more of its goodness!”

Chatham Lakes Campground

Address: 6794 Avon Lake Rd, Spencer, OH 44275, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“We're seasonals that were displaced from another campground that we camped at for 16 years. Coming here we worried about the lack of amenities we had been used to, but there wasn't anything to worry about. The owners are very friendly and work tirelessly from dawn til dark to improve and update the park. The ponds are beautiful and clean. My kids have no trouble swimming in the lake. I'm a harder sell, but that's ok because there is a plan for a pool to be added next season! There are plenty of fish in each of the ponds and the kids enjoy catching them. They are working hard to get community building activities going(Friday bingo, monthly potlucks) and the band they had for Memorial weekend was outstanding! The rules and expectations for campers are quite reasonable for that of a family friendly campground. They had no trouble offering ample parking and a simple sign in for guests when we had my husband's 50th birthday party. We also found the golf cart trails this weekend and can't wait to explore those more in the coming weeks! Prices are fair and folks are very friendly. We're happy to have made the move.”
