“Best lunch spot in east Texas! Great SW BBQ head chef plus family passed down true to Texas recipes equals food that I’m still daily dreaming about since I visited. The egg rolls! I heard angels singing!! The burnt ends, normally I find burnt ends way too fatty for my liking but these were cooked to a delicious perfection! And the smoke ring in every meat we had on the table was immaculate! I really don’t have enough kind words about my experience here. And yes it was an experience! The owner himself came out to meet and greet us while we enjoyed our feast, what a delightful, respectful and smart man he is. We talked about his trek to pit master, the amazing flavors in the recipes he is creating and how getting the buzz going out there for a must stop destination, my words- it is true!- is so hard to do, especially when most of the day is spent creating this menu that has me truly excited for! “This is small restaurant that makes food fresh so there will be a wait, but it will be worth it. You need to wait to be seated. Service was great everyone was friendly even the people of Glen rose! Fried pickles fresh and hot, batter has a spicy component to it so keep that in mind. Fries are fresh cut and you will need to add salt but they are good. BLT sandwich was the best, my cheeseburger was more well done than I like but still good. Chicken tenders hot and crispy. Definitely a good place if you are looking for fresh homemade food.”

“Excellent food! Very clean restaurant with a cute maritime vibe. I wish they had some music playing but otherwise great booth and table space. They offer everything from seafood to fried chicken and hamburgers. They also have a wide variety of sides and appetizers. When we went they only had canned sodas not fountain but that wasn’t a big deal. They offer fresh baked cake by the slice and the cooks had hair nets, caps and aprons on. “Although easily accessible and right of the highway, it's quite tucked away. Nevertheless, they had good service and great food. I love supporting small and local companies and this was one of those. The waiter, who I found out later is the owner's daughter, did a great job. Not knowing beforehand that she was the owner's daughter was good because it allowed me to make a neutral judgement. It's a cozy place. I eat tilapia wherever it's available and they had one on the menu. It was great and very comparable to others I've had. This is a great place with great food 👍❤”

“I've had some terrible experiences at this store last year, but I decided to try again on Tuesday night. The man working was in his 30s-40s and was incredibly sweet and helpful. My food was fresh and crispy, I could tell I wasn't handed an old sandwich like I have been in the past. I asked for extra sauce and he absolutely met that request. It was a completly different experience than I'm used to from this store. His customer service gives me hope for this store, and I will return again happily. I truly regret not getting his name so he could get the recognition he deserves.”

No typical stale bowling alley smell; probably because of of hardwood flooring, not carpet. Food at the bar was great including delicious flat bread. Bartenders Myriah and Megan were great and manager Brendon was very helpful sharing details on their unlimited bowling features.
