“This was our first food stop on our LA trip. We loved it so much during our last visit that we made a beeline here on our way to Disneyland. My friend and I ordered a Double-Double burger, Animal Style fries, and a cheeseburger with grilled onions and extra cheese. The burgers were just as amazing as I remembered - crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, with fresh ingredients that hit the spot. It was my first time trying the Animal Style fries, and the cheese and bacon combo gave it an extra kick. Starting our trip with such delicious food was the perfect way to kick things off. “This is a hole in the wall kinda place, nothing fancy. We came based on the reviews. We ordered red curry with chicken, pad see ew with pork, spicy chicken wings, a chef’s special and mango sticky rice. The portion was big for all of them and the price was cheap for the amount of food we got. Chicken with Red curry wasn’t really “red” but the flavor was good. It has a strong coconut taste. Pad see ew flavor was good, the noodles could be a bit more chewy. Spicy chicken wings were unexpected. The Thai wings i had in the past were mostly dry but these ones had a lot of sauce. The wings were over-fried and the hot sauce smell was over powering. The chef’s special (C2) came with so many types of meat. I didn’t really like the chicken. The ribs were good. The beef jerky were the best out of all the ones we got. It’s a good dish to try everything. We had to have Mango sticky rice for dessert. Mango was fresh but sticky rice was a bit dry. Overall, it’s worth the visit for the price.”

This little Plaza area does have quite a few businesses but I never see it super busy to the point where it's hard to find a parking space. Let's get started on what this place is about, martabak! There are plenty of varieties that you can order from them! This time, I ordered the ovolmaltine, cheese, and peanuts. Regardless of the combo you order, it's going to be rich and buttery!! The one that I ordered was very delicious. The ovolmaltine is already a bit of a crunchy spread and the crushed peanuts helped give more texture as well. The cheese compliments everything with a bit of saltiness and creaminess. This treat is definitely a TREAT. I would love to eat one every day but I'm afraid I'd gain too many pounds too fast 🤣 This is a worth it indulgence though! They're pretty much the only place around here that makes martabak. I would come back to get the sweetcorn and cheese combo! NOTE: Call in your order. As far as I know, they don't allow walk-in orders. It takes around 15 to 20 minutes for each order, depending on how many they may already have.”

I ordered an iced chai tea latte with regular milk, petit vanilla bean scones, and also purchased an apple juice box. The chai tea was sweet but not overly sweet or diluted by milk and/or ice -- it tasted refreshing and creamy, as I expect an iced chai tea latte from Starbucks to be. The petit vanilla bean scones were decent -- dense, but not too biscuit-like. Each of the little scones looks as though it would weigh 1-1.5 ounces. They are filling enough, especially for such a small pastry. And the juice box... Well, it's a juice box. Not expired. Overall, if you're looking for a Starbucks to stop at when you want something with coffee, espresso, or tea, and you're on Artesia by Van Ness, this is your place.”
