“Enjoyed a wonderful Mother’s Day celebration at Fuzzy Faces Refuge. The staff and volunteers were gracious, educational and fun! I thought to myself “we need more places like this everywhere”. Visit to help support a local non-profit, visit to enjoy time away from electronics, visit cause you will love it.”

“UPDATE May 2018: Some maintenance work was done at the park, so it's looking even better now. They've smartly mulched over the larger sand pit and left the small sand pit in place. Where there was only one springy ride left on the last visit, they've installed two new springy wooden bugs. I maintain my high rating of this little gem of a park! If you're thinking about coming to Kiwanis Park, be aware that this park is specifically made for 2-5 year old children (give or take a bit, obviously) and isn't appropriate or sized for older kids, though the sign also says all are welcome here. I appreciated them explicitly saying that everyone is welcome. Pets are not allowed and the park isn't made for them anyway, so leave Fluffy and Spike at home. From the outside this park looks kind of tiny and a bit sad; when pulling up for the first time, we were anticipating disappointment. The green fence and the park being on a bit of a slope were hiding a lot of surprises! The park obviously has a good bit of age on it, but it is pretty well maintained and safe. The swings and play equipment are surrounded with rubber tiles to soften any falls. Everything really is the perfect size for a young child. The tube connecting the two platforms for the slides has holes in the side which let you interact with your child through them and reach into the tube with your whole arm if necessary. The black rubber tiles are old enough that moss grows on the borders of some tiles, and that actually makes the place look a little bit magical. There are musical bells and drums to bang on when the other equipment gets boring, as well as several sand pits, small rocks, and neat stump walkways. There are several flowers around the park which make it more inviting and there are lots triangle canopies that provide a little shade and a lot more visual interest. The turtle sculpture is awesome! Even as an adult, I appreciated this park a lot. I'm sure visiting at sunset and with no other guests than my family had something to do with it, but there really is a lot to look at for such a modest patch of land. I could have spent another hour there just taking photos of the flowers, stumps, canopies, wooden benches, concrete paths with embedded stone art, and so much more. It is a calm, serene place that feels like a lot of care and thoughtfulness was involved in its creation. I will definitely go back and enjoy the sunset there another day.”

“Kaplan Commons is at the heart of University of North Carolina at Greensboro. It’s wide open grass area where you can do many activities on a sunny day. It is in between university buildings so it has an easy access between classes.”

“Definitely a spread open water fall. Weather was perfect for checking it out. Broken glass present on trails. A bit of trash left behind by others. All our group left behind were foot prints.”

“I don't know how this place has a 2.8 rating. Small quiet park. Fastest internet then any park we have ever been at. Staff is friendly. I don't see a single flaw here. Nothing it's a great place to stay. They also had a spot for us last minute. It's in a doordash area if you do doordash. Would stay again. Their is a train that goes by but that doesn't bug us. Laundry is only 1.75. One of the cheapest we have seen.”

“Small garden but very nicely done. Some shady areas, but also very hot in the sunny areas so plan your day accordingly. Small parking spaces, but we found one in the shade so that was nice. Indoor building had AC, gift shop sold seeds for some of the plants and they had a large selection of nice gifts for the gardener in your family. Beautiful place. So many butterflies and loved the history of the cabin!!”

“Apparently Google maps takes you nowhere near anything you can use nor anywhere to park. All the sand you can eat, if you follow their directions though. Good luck. The parking lot for the boardwalk is less than a mile before where Google has you going. There's maybe a dozen parking spots there. Nice boardwalk and one small trail through the woods.”

“This is a great place for a workout. They have a great assortment of equipment. I love the fact that they have a little bit of everything here. Treadmills, elliptical machines, rowing machines, a walking track upstairs and a weight lifting room, just to name a few. They also keep the place very clean and safe. It's a great place to go to get healthy and fit.”

“I've grown up on this river and at this park. At 43 years old, I still love it! There are a few built in grills, a small playground area for kids, plenty of space for volleyball or soccer, a covered picnic shelter with restrooms.... not including tubing down the river.... It's freaking awesome!!”

“Nice park for kids to play. The soft chips in the playground keep the kids from getting hurt if they fall. It also has a covered patio that provides shade and protection from rain. The over hang contains 4 long tables for get togethers and small parties. We were able to string up balloons for a toddler's birthday party. No bathrooms in sight. The fitness club next door is nice enough to let people use their's.”

“I have hunted ducks and geese for more than 50 years and I experienced one of the best days hunting I have ever experienced. Aaron, the fourth generation, is an award winning goose caller. He is both a very easy guy to get along with and an excellent guide. He has guided in New York, Virginia and North Carolina. He has great places to hunt and the scissors rig is a great way to hunt. I drove all the way from Rhode Island to hunt with him and will return in February for snow geese. His prices are fair and very reasonable. If you want to have a great time give Aaron a call. He even lets you call before you leave to make sure the birds are in. I have never known any other outfitter to allow something like that. I don't think you can go back.”

“It was nice. I went there on a motorcycle and depending how you enter it's either 1 mile or.5 mile down a gravel road. So just a word of caution if you aren't going by car truck or SUV. It's a nice gravel road. But still... Lots of loop trails. Everything I walked on was very easy and flat. Glad I stopped by because this was pretty far east of where I live. It just happened to fall in the middle of a motorcycle ride I was on. Photo of map attached.”

“Just want to recognize 2 people at Clayton parks and rec. Coach Mike Johnson and Nick rummage. Recently my son fractured his ankle during a game. After the injury, Mike and Nick reached to us checking up to see how my son was recovering. Also like to express my gratitude towards all the parents who assisted with getting my son from the gym to my car! We are extremely grateful for this! Thanks again! Looking forward to next season!”

“This place is a lot of fun for outdoor enthusiasts. There are miles of wooded and open trails to explore. We also really like the cabins they offer. We've stayed twice now, once for the Perseid Meteor Shower event they hosted and then once for the total lunar eclipse. The area gets really dark at night so we were able to see these events very clearly. We've also done the nighttime owl safari with them and it was the best one we've ever done. We found so many owls, it made me very happy! The area also has a bird exhibit, indoor classroom/nature room, and playground, great for kids The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. We highly recommend this place.”
