“Parking isn't real close to the playground, but there is a lovely bridge to walk across on the way and plenty of grass. Enjoyed a nice picnic lunch in the shade and my kids (elementary age) played on the equipment. Would visit again.”

“This is a very small pocket park, but has some nice playground equipment, some woody walking trails, and even a secluded pond to walk around or across (it has a pontoon bridge). Very nice, watch the underbrush for armadillos or roadrunners!”

“Not a bad little spot. It’s right off of the lake. Plenty of room to walk your dog, play sports, or just sit and relax a bit. With beautiful views of the lake. Nice parking area surrounded by gorgeous homes. There’s a trail that leads to the water as well. So if you have pets they can cool off for a while. Very clean kept grass with no trash all over the place like some parks. There are trash can located through the park and parking areas. Looks like people are using them.”

“My son went for a trip alone for the first time with a couple of friends. Car broke down. Shotgun (Nolan) helped them out a lot. Checked on them and made sure they were good. Amazing and helpful man. Thank you so much for being caring and patient with these clueless teen boys. If I could give more stars I would. Helped this mama not to worry.”

“Very nice hike and bike trail. I noticed one comment concerning unsafe steps. We rode the trail from downtown Goliad out to the mission and state park then back to Goliad. We never encountered any steps. All changes in terrain had wooden ramps with switch backs to climb or descend. Not difficult at all, just be careful to control your speed when going down the ramps. Otherwise it is a very pleasant and relaxing ride from town and throughout the park.”

“I had an incredible long-term stay at this RV park! The fiber optic internet was a game-changer, offering lightning-fast speeds that made it easy to work and stream without interruption. The shaded, covered RV lots provided a comfortable environment, protecting us from the sun and keeping the RV cool. I felt completely safe here; the well-maintained grounds and friendly staff created a welcoming atmosphere that made it a true home away from home. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fantastic RV experience!”

“We held a balloon release (biodegradable) memorial service at Old Settlers Park for families of hospice patients. The grounds were very clean. Parks & Rec added coverings to the pavillion, creating shade for those hot summer days! What a pleasant surprise from the year before. It was a weekday morning, so we did not have to reserve the space. If the event was scheduled for the weekend, that might be a necessity. Our son played baseball here as a boy and the baseball fields were excellent. The added concession stands constructed with stone were a real plus.”

“The Peterson Community Garden is growing under great leadership from the Keep Hutto Beautiful Foundation and its dedicated board of directors and volunteers. Keep an eye on this space as a master plan is developed and the space grows to both be an incredible asset to the community and a tribute to Curtis Peterson and the History of Hutto.”

“Mammies offers an amazing selection of beautiful metal art and some of the most gorgeous Talavera pottery I've seen! The owner, Dawn, is so friendly & welcoming. “Booking here for our 10 year wedding anniversary was the best decision we have made since we got married. From the moment we arrived we were treated like family. Staff is kind, caring, knowledgeable, super friendly and fun!! The grounds are gorgeous and very well maintained. The store has everything you need, the pool is the perfect temperature day and night, and every bathroom/bath house was clean and well stocked. Between the pickleball courts, corn hole boards, pool table, outdoor kitchen and swimming pool, we were never bored. The only problem we had was leaving to return to west Texas. We will return every chance we get.”

“Nice park with scenic views of the lake. The park is one of the least light polluted parks around DFW, so I expect night skies to be just gorgeous. Will have to come back when its not cloudy. The lake was a bit dirty for swimming I feel. No beach area. Good boat ramp. Restrooms are waterless, and were not in good shape when we went. Basically emergency restroom. The campsites around have running water but no electricity. Camp sites have bbq grill, tables, and fire rings. July 2020 update. They added a very nice fishing pier!”
