“Their weekday specials are the definition of special. For example, Tuesdays, you can get a large combo basket (fish, shrimp, fries and hush puppies) for the price of a small combo basket. The level of seasoning is supreme. I would encourage you to taste before automatically adding salt. The best catfish I have had anywhere. The hush puppies and other items are delicious too. There was enough food for my wife and I to share one basket and have leftovers. Every item was hot and fresh. (Note: We couldn't wait, so we ate some before I took the picture.) Last year, we came here on our last night in town. This year we came on our first night in town, allowing for making this an option for another meal while we are here.”

As well as the breads appetizer. Cons: 1. The eggplant dish was over-fried and didn’t taste like eggplant at all. I wouldn’t recommend. 2. “This place is an absolute treat! I've been here several times, for dinner and just for snacks. They have a grill going outside so the meat has that nice charbroiled crispness to it. “First time guest. Impressed! Pictured here: meat lovers pizza, renfro street queso, and pot roast. The pizza was flavorful. Pot roast was good but could’ve had more flavor. Carrots tender and sweet, green beans were soft and flavorful, mashed potatoes could’ve been more moist but good flavor. The winner was definitely the homemade chips and queso with street corn. The servers are always very friendly and very helpful when it comes to taking our empty plates and refilling the drinks. “El Tequilas is a cozy spot with a lively atmosphere, though it can get a bit loud for its size. The staff was friendly and accommodating, but I'd caution against paying large bills unless you're prepared for potential inconvenience, as they aren't prepared for that. The food was good overall, but nothing particularly wowed me for the $50 bill. The fajitas had good flavor, but I didn't find myself craving more. The corn tortillas weren't fresh. The pico de gallo seemed like an afterthought, with chunky tomatoes and unchopped cilantro, lacking the vibrant flavors of lime and salt that I expected. The margarita was decent, though a top-shelf price should promise something more exquisite for a nearly $14 premium, but you can get them togo. Despite its name, the tequila selection was somewhat limited, which was surprising. Also, having Pepsi instead of Coke was a downside for me. On the positive side, the rice was tasty, and the guacamole tasted fresh. While I wouldn't mind returning to El Tequilas because the staff I experienced were pleasant, I found that the overall experience didn't quite match the higher prices. A solid option but not one that left a lasting impression for its value.”
