“I have had several excellent experiences at Anderson Creek Hunting Preserve. We had a duck hunting outing and an upland hunting outing during the 2016-17 hunting season - both of which were a lot of fun and productive. More importantly, I have yellow lab that had developed gun-shyness at a little less than 1 year of age. Craig Tant, one of the Anderson Creek dog trainers, took her for 1 month, and turned her from a gun-shy dog that seemed destined to be a couch potato into a well tuned hunting dog that was excited to go chase birds and retrieve them. Without Craig's patient & caring training, my high pedigree labrador retriever would have been limited to a great family pet. However, thanks to Craig, she is not only a great family pet, but is also becoming an excellent hunting partner. Thanks to James and Craig and the rest of the staff at Anderson Creek.”

“Beautiful tree line, my route to the running trail that I go to in country park. Easy enough and well maintained, different than the parks I’ve seen: it’s paved and walkable.”

“This animal sanctuary is a true labour of love. I am in awe at the small staff yet how well the animals are cared for. Every exquisite animal (carnivores excluded) had their own carefully cut fresh produce. It must have taken hours just to prepare their breakfast. The water bowls were clean even the ones outside and the pens were free of odors. The animal themselves had such wonderful personalities. From the pig that followed me around trying to squeeze in tight spaces, the tortoises that came to visit me and my favorite the monkey who played peek a boo. (Yes really) The cats and kittens (available for adoption) including a beautiful orange kitten who was the most affectionate cat I have ever met. He would make a wonderful cat especially for someone who needs company. There are python snakes, sloths geckos, an alligator, a camel, horses goats. As you walk to the back of the property it gets more exciting. I could have spent 4 hours here just enjoying the animals though it was very cold today. It’s worth a trip and consider a donation if you can. The sanctuary is definitely a place worth investing in.”

“Loads of fun! One of the coolest parks! Doesn't have a separate play area for the smaller tots. It does however have toddler swings.”

“Our dogs LOVE going to DogWorld. And they usually sleep for a couple of days afterwards. They love the water and just the freedom to run around. They have several acres of land with a pond and another area with an Olympic sized swimming pool drained down to have a little walk in, zero entry type area when you walk down the main starts. They also have two in ground kiddie pools, two water slides, and your pup gets a free pup cone before you leave. Highly recommend, especially if you have a water loving pup!”

“We went on the first day they opened… it was full and spectacular! They have a huge family swing to sit on and photograph with including two old tractor/trucks. You should also bring your own plant cutting pruning shears they charge $10 to buy and the bucket is also extra but it’s a nice tall one you can bring back to fill and you don’t have to buy it again. You don’t have to buy tickets online but I suggest doing so for busy times of day due to covid and it’s not a long walk from the parking to see the flowers which is so nice. It’s $15 per person, 3 and under are free and everyone gets one flower for the paid admission ticket, so if you don’t want to pick with the bucket …at least you get a flower to take home. 😀🌻🚜💛🌞 I suggest going sooner rather then later because of the cutting there will eventually be less and less flowers to see.”

“Very beautiful park, with many options for everyone. There's a beach volleyball, baseball field, walking/running way that circles the park, a pirate themed playground and splash park! There's also a very nice picnic area, with outdoor charcoal grills, a roof, & bathrooms! Everything is very nice, clean, and well maintained!! 👍👍”

“This is my favorite trail to use in the area! It has a lot of routes to explore, both on the main trail and on smaller side trails. It is well-used, and while it can get rocky, it is not so rocky as to be too dangerous! A great place for a stroll with a friend, a run, walking a dog, a family outing, or riding a bike.”

“To the people who run this place, I would like to again thank you for allowing me to climb the mountain. I came here with my mother on 5/29/22, and while it was a very steep climb up to the towers, it was well worth it, and I'd like to thank you for giving me the opportunity! For those who don't know, the cell phone towers on the camp property are the highest point in Randolph County! My only complaint is that there wasn't much of a view as the website indicated, and you certainly can't see Pilot Mountain from it”

“With a free splash pad area, playground, and shaded area, this place was a hidden gem for my 2-year-old! Coming here for a birthday party, we were pleased by this public area that offered a way to cool down for the summer, be outside, and socialize in an affordable way with other friends. My daughter enjoyed playing in the water, resting to eat treats, and running around the playground afterward when she could dry off and warm up a little. The playground has a spongy mat that I appreciated, considering a trip and fall would be especially devastating otherwise. I'm glad this was thought through!”

“A great park for walk and jog. Make sure you watch your kids when they play in the kids area because there was an emergency today involving a child who got stuck in the swing. The EMS folks had to cut open the swing to release the child.”

“Cute little park to visit while driving through the area. It is very close to the highway so it was the perfect stop for our move up north. Only downside was I did not see any restrooms around, but there is a gas station just up the road for bathroom breaks.”

“Been going here for years and have watched the amenities improve and expand. Covered picnic tables, playground. You can now rent paddle boats and the addition of another dock for access to the walking trails is nice. They even have fishing platforms with benches along the lake edge for the fisherman or nature photographers. Easy access. Free.”

“Great park! A few miles of hiking trails. Great playground and picnic area with restrooms. Seems like a decent disc golf course. Great bike trail. Smooth and flowy for all levels. Very easy except for a little bit of climbing. Seems to be closed a lot probably due to the clay being slippery when wet? Amazing sunset views of the lake.”
