“We've been trying to explore all the different parks within 15-20 minutes of Dunn and we hadn't been here yet. I would say it's a great park if you're going to have a birthday party or a sports events. There are 4 little grills, 8 picnic tables under two shaded awnings; all which is really nice. The playground equipment itself is just small and as we came here solely for that, my toddler got bored easily. We so appreciate the swings though as our closest park does not have them. There's a big field which is also home to a gazebo which is nice for a baseball game or something. Tl/Dr: nice park but too small playground”

“Love the sports they offer for the kids. Volunteers are great prices are affordable! Only wish is that games were the same nights as practices (Tues & Thurs). The reason for this is because Mondays are rough for most of us between work and school and also there are a lot of families that may want to attend church services on Wednesday nights and not be forced to chose between the two. Thanks for all y'all do!”

“Nice newer campground, clean bathhouse. The tent pads are quite large. Plenty of water spigots and trash & recycling cans. They don't allow alcohol. Not a ton of privacy on any sites, and some sites are more shaded than others. The gravel driveways for the sites are mostly very long, plenty of room for an RV or multiple vehicles. There are some cabins as well as tent & RV sites, they looked nice from the outside. Bike trails start right at the campground, and the main park with hiking trails is only a half mile walk. Overall a nice place, but I'd imagine tent camping in the summer would be very hot.”

“Had a great experience last weekend, worked with Ann and got a 50 AMP full hookup for a Friday-Monday stay. Awesome sunrise views with water and some beautiful wooded areas. Fished from bulkhead with little success due to the heat and time of day but we enjoyed the quiet relaxed atmosphere. Nice open areas to explore or walking the dog. The folks there are great, the campgrounds are well groomed, trash removal pickup close to sites. We were not on the waterfront but had a site on the pull through center section but still could enjoy the water view from there. We live in Virginia Beach just so it's in easy striking distance and we will be back!”

“2 small loop hiking trails that are good for beginners or casual hikers, maybe decent for trail running workouts. Camp sites look nicely maintained. Very clean, access to the lake. Well marked.”

“This place is huge. We took our kids just for a few minutes because we were in the area. Its spacious and the play area is quite nice. So many types of activities for kids to do. There is also a little pond where you can sit and relax. Im sure the neighbors around the park really enjoy it.”

“This park is beautiful! Lots of numbered areas you can reserve for parties and gatherings. The restrooms are clean. You can fish, play volleyball or grill. There's areas for camping with pathways for walking and exploring. They also have a pool area with slides. Definitely recommend coming here!”

“Nice day use area. Just please Take Your Garbage out with you and put your butts in your pocket. I camp on the shoreline around there regularly and always have to carry a huge bag of other people's trash out with each visit.”

“We've stopped her for years. Great place. Best part is we are in a 42 ft motorhome and towing a 28 ft trailer and don't have to unhook! Our site is long enough! Great dog park for our 2 black labs, beautiful lawns, nice pool. People who run place are super nice. Lots of nice neighbors, too.”

“This was a fun stay. Was there for 7 days and it went fast with lots to do in the area. Staff was easy to work with and kept the park up well. Our spot (B9) was secluded with the neighbors a ways away, and an easy walk to the lake! Will go back if in the area.”

“Decent area park close to Walter G. Byers Elementary close to Uptown Charlotte. Not exceptionally huge but rather adequate space to get a light stroll in. There's a standard (beautiful) ball court, outing safe house and soccer field. A lot of space for an off the cuff excursion and simply a hike from Uptown's Music Factory. Welcoming for a round of badminton or open field play. Perfect, all around kept park in the Greenville Subdivision.”

“We visited the park, actually, after the center was closed. It's a beautifully wooded urban park, with a picnic table or two, plus a medium large shelter that can be reserved. The shelter includes bathrooms, which are well-maintained. We brought PB&J sandwiches, sat at an isolated table beside the tennis courts to watch the players of wildly diverse skill levels go at it on the 3 courts. There are walking paths, a kids' playground Par Course, a mister for summertime heat The community center includes a craft shop which always has a variety of handmade goods for sale. For us, it is peaceful place to relax, unwind.”

“Beautiful hike. You may want to download AllTrails or something similar to help you navigate. We saw some people wandering off-trail to find the next section (though the red circles are rather easy to follow). Well-maintained trail with a couple well-marked detours as they complete their work. We hiked counter-clockwise in order to ease the steep climbs for my 3yo & 6yo. The river looked very brown & stagnant, not sure if you’d want to swim/wade in it?? Perhaps it was simply in need of rain. Lovely views at the lookout. In all, we hiked about 2.25miles. We’d definitely come back! Parking lot is dirt off a dirt road. There is a bathroom but it’s a composting toilet and I’m not sure how often it is cleaned. Bring your own hand sanitizer.”

“I cannot say enough wonderful things about Steele Creek Marina and the owners Jill and Charles. I have been happily camping there for untold years but recently purchased a boat and decided to rent a wet slip at Steele Creek. Charles has a boat hauling business and he hauled my Larson Cabrio 330 from New Bern to Steele Creek Marina. He dismantled the radar for the haul and replaced it when he arrived. Everything went smoothly and it was very affordable. After the put-in, Charles luckily road with me to put her into my new slip. As my skills as a captain are VERY rusty, he saved the day as I was unable to get her into the slip. The next day I took her out to practice and now realize I need lessons on handling this large boat. Charles very kindly and patiently rescued me again. Jill and Charles are very professional and extremely helpful and kind. They have been very responsive with all communications. They are exceptionally knowledgeable about boats and are vertically integrated to meet most boat needs. Marie at the marina store knows her stuff and the marina and campgrounds are managed well by her. The marina and campgrounds are well kept and beautiful. I have, on multiple occasions, rented the houseboat that they have available. It is clean, comfortable, lovely and quite affordable. I have stayed in both the tent camping and RV camp areas and they are both beautiful and clean. Kevin and Tommy, the other staff that I met, were incredibly helpful and kind. I totally recommend Steele Creek Marina for any and all of your lakeside recreational endeavors!!”

“Nice park to take your dog. If your dog is very shy or a puppy you may want to take them when it’s just you all and no other dogs. There was a great dain there when I took my puppy and the owner would not stop his adult dog from pouncing on my puppy until my puppy hid under the table and I had to just leave. It your dogs aren’t really friendly don’t take them to the park and allow them to bully smaller dogs!”
