“This park is a hidden gem of the neighborhood. Lots of nice grassy cross country trails as well as a nice paved walking path. Paved path is up a giant hill, so be ready for a workout as all paths here are very hilly. Would be perfect for cross country running or skiing. This park also has a small, but nice playground for kids, picnic pavilion, real bathrooms, a nice boche ball court, and outdoor fitness equipment. The fitness stuff isn't really the best equipment for getting a good workout in, but it would be nice for doing circuit training between running loops or getting in a light workout while watching your kids play. The play area has a mini bouldering wall that is decent for a mini boulder workout. Nice park for the whole family.”

“A very nice area and I actually golfed here when it was a course. It is now a nice nature area and a great place to to get a good understanding of acid mine drainage and the processes in place to mitigate it. First sight gives the impression they could clean it up a bit but understanding the processes in place gives insight to the area in general.”

“Great place for a small family hike with kiddos. It has a nice small waterfall but it had no water when we were there on last summer. Nice place to hike or trails beginners with small kids. It has one plush toilet in the parking area which was not that much cleaner. The picnic area was good and it covered with lots of trees. It has enough space to play for kids.”

“It's a nice Park close by Oltman Elementary for the kids in the area to go and play at. Have some fun on the playground or basketball court. If you like Pokemon like I do. It's a great place to sit at the benches. Battle, Spin a pokestop or two and catch some fun Pokemon. Maybe even one's you don't have.”

“This is a beautiful place! It was difficult to find the bison and we needed some direction. You go up the hill from the pond, around the bend and then we had to walk down to see them. Also, the website for the preserve says to bring grapes to feed the ducks. We went to the store just for grapes but then when we arrived, the signs say not to feed them. They either need to update the website or their signs. The animals were beautiful and the pond with the fountain was just beautiful. A nice relaxing place to social distance!”

“Very friendly dog owners. Nice "woods" area and open play area. Definitely a couple "doggy gifts" piles from not all getting cleaned up, but it was not a large amount. (Tho' I did gracefully step in a fresh one... sigh....) will be back. Bring a jug of water to share with other dogs. Community of folks helping each other's doggos... super awesome.”

“My favorite lake in the south hills. Absolutely love kayaking here. I walked the trail for the first time the other day, and it is a pretty solid 1.5 mile hike. My only complaint is parking is a little crazy if you're trying to launch a boat later in the day, so either walk a long way with your boat to the official boat launch, or just park somewhere and see if you can squeeze in one of the side paths to hop in the water.”

There's little parking so don't expect any larger social events, that aren't within walking distance, to happen here. There's no public restrooms here, so time spent is usually pretty short.”

Have not e plored all the nature trails and paths but it's a fairly well kept area. We've been taking our older dogs there for their "workouts" (theirs and their hoomans). They love it and we've enjoyed just being outdoors. ?”
