“Nice little park with a creek, a soccer field, and a couple of loop trails. They have a picnic pavilion as well and the parking is good size with porta potty option. Overall, it has everything for the little kids and family to have fun at.”

“This is a large beautiful campground with camping options ranging from cabins, yurts, tent sites, and rv spots with full hookups. It does use well water which has a faint oder, but you are in the middle of the mountains so this wasn't a surprise. The dog park is a nice big open area with a pond close by that has a couple ducks and occasional geese visits (you can see it in one of the photos i posted from the dog park). Lots of places for leash walking your dog too! The rv spots are good size with gravel lots, nice solid wood picnic tables and fire rings. Although we were here in the winter and didn't get to enjoy them, there is a nice playground, gameroom, pool, and mini golf. Good price laundry machines on site. Our wifi worked great, but we were close to the office, so this could vary throughout the park. Plus, it is in a great location to enjoy all of the historical and nature areas these mountains offer. Lastly, the staff was very helpful and friendly. My only reason for 4 stars is the price. It is corporate run, and I think corporate run places are usually more expensive. In my opinion, they should charge about 100 less for monthly rates especially in the winter since most of the amenities cannot be used at this time of year.”

“Stayed here in 2020 from August thru end of December. The Meighen's are great hosts, very attentive and accommodating to help get you settled in. After that they check in now and then and keep a good eye on the place. The parking spots are large, the country setting very pleasant, and the place is well kept. I would highly recommend this park for a short stay or long.”

“Loved staying here! The bath houses are close, and clean. The campground is beautiful, and the cabins are nice! If you’re staying in the cabins bring a fan with you as some of the windows don’t have screens in them! Perfect location to all things/activities Ohiopyle”

“Nice park by the river. Huge parking lot with bathrooms. Many tables, benches, and pavilions. Two different playgrounds. Boat launch. Flat walking area along the river.”

“Super quiet campground located at Keystone state park. The only negative is that the water is not drinkable. The sediments stained our ceramic toilet and shower brown. We couldn't even give the water to our dogs, else they'd get sick. We had to get the five gallon jugs from Walmart for all of us to drink. We could use the "tap" water for showers and dishes and laundry but even then, we didn't like it. The monthly rate wasn't too bad at all considering the water problem. Electric, sewer and water were all inclusive. The park owners were very kind. And the park kitties were super cute! Lots of beautiful wildlife around, too: groundhogs, pheasants, deer, raccoons and bears! Close to Latrobe (about 15 minutes).”

“Sad to see all the negative reviews that have nothing to do with this place or are a result of people not knowing what they are doing. That said, I can only speak for the trailhead on Calhoun Rd. It looks like it may have been updated recently with a new map. It's easy to understand. Also, it seems that trail markers have been updated recently as they are extremely visible and useful. There are still trees down but I can tell someone has been working on that. These trails are a great change from going to South Park all the time. And what a view.”

“Hiked from mile 0 in Ohiopyle to the Ohiopyle shelters, 6.5 miles in 4hrs. Great elevation changes, great views and the trail was marked well. Shelters are well maintained and firewood was plentiful. Day two, hiked to from the shelter to Rt. 653 parking lot, about 6.5hrs over 12.5 miles. That hike begin straight up for 2 miles and ends going straight up at the 653 parking lot. Overall, a great trail and well maintained by the park system.”

“Beautiful spot for a picnic. Restrooms were available. Plenty of tables both in shade and sun. There is a ball field and a small playground (only a slide I believe).”

“Great park with a nice walking path and two playgrounds. There are fields for sporting activities, but I take my kids for the playgrounds. There is one that is more for toddlers and another one that has some bigger slides and climbing options for some more advanced kids. The bathrooms are not open year round so if you go in the off season that is difficult.”

“It's ALWAYS an Adventure at the WFR, always great things to see. Fun for an individual or group. Lots of trails that are fairly kept well, there's are some steep areas so good shoes are a must. Also remember since there are flowers there will be bugs and bees. I normally were something organic like peppermint oil to repell them and is less harmful for the environment.”

“We rented a cabin near here for the weekend with family. I've always wanted to visit this house so we stopped by on our last day. Tickets were sold out for the indoor tours (they weren't doing many because of Covid), so if you want to do that, book at least a month in advance. That being said, the grounds and outside of the property are incredible. It's such a beautiful house and definitely worth visiting just the outdoor portion too. Plus you can see the inside through the windows. Tickets for that were only $20/person when we went. There are tons of trails you can explore around the grounds too. I'd allow at least 1-2 hours here. It's definitely worth a day trip to visit if you're anywhere near here!”

“We love the park. We got to the pool all the time. We have bought passes since 1998. The pool is beautiful and well maintained. The staff is friendly and enjoys getting to know the pool patrons personally. There are night swims, and the pool can be rented for parties. It's a safe and family friendly place to go all summer long.”

“We will definitely be coming back, they were very nice and welcoming to our group of 4. Our site has a gorgeous view and nice large cleared area for our 2 tents. And the privacy is even better! Finally found a campground you can enjoy instead of constantly hearing neighbors or having a bunch of people walk past you. Highly recommend!”
