“Absolutely gorgeous state park. The beach is great during the summer and kayak and SUP rentals are available seasonally. The boat launch is new, and they also have a dog beach. There are many trails to choose from for hiking, including part of the Ice Age Trail.”

“We had a great time and will definitely revisit for a longer stay. RELEARNING to camp was exciting and fun, even with the hiccups we faced. Make sure you bring enough blankets, it gets cold at night... sleeping bag rated for 30 degrees was not enough for me... smiley face. Night skys were beautiful.”

“A nice REMOTE campground. Be warned if you are expecting all the amenities in normal campgrounds, there is no running water or ranger station near by with firewood. The road on the way up is one lane, narrow, and part of it is unpaved getting there is not meant for all vehicles. Other then that it is a nice campground with great hiking trails, really takes you out of the city. I recommend this campground, but do come prepared if not a seasoned camper.”

“This is a small, hidden park with a path that reaches behind some houses in the back of two subdivisions. Not a destination worth driving to because it doesn't have all the things the bigger parks have, but it's good for a walk and for kids to play if you happen to live in walking distance.”

“For the price, it's really a very nice water park. It would definitely be nice if they had some lockers that would lock for your key and supplies. There were a handful of lockers outside that mentioned bringing your own locks though I didn't actually see where you could put one in. It has a nice little lazy River as well as a water pad. There's one very small child water slide and one relatively good sized water slide for those over 42 in.”

“Interesting exhibit inside the Alaskan Wildlife Conservation Center. Black bears when we visited were sleeping and well hidden except one that was walking near the fence. Well camouflaged in the tall grass and bush.”

“This is a nice trail. The scenery was breathtaking and the atmosphere was peaceful. The trail was perfect for hikers of all levels, with a short and mild slope that made it easy to navigate. It is early March, we just got lots of rains last few weeks that makes the mountains covered in green grass. The view was absolutely stunning and made the hike even more enjoyable. Additionally, there was a small stream that added to the tranquility of the surroundings. There are also friendly mountain bikers who were always courteous enough to announce the number of riders when passing by. It was great to see everyone enjoying the outdoors and being respectful of one another. The hike itself was about 2.7 miles long and ended at a beautiful waterfall. If you are looking for a peaceful and scenic hiking experience, this trail may be the one.”

“Easy to get to and an absolutely beautiful very well maintained RV park. The site we were in was very roomy. The only issue we had was that we checked in on Sunday not knowing the office was closed, and there was no information as to where to go or how to get set up. With that being said, we would definitely stay here again.”

“Our family made a trip to Big Rock last night and I have to say that it was truly a magical evening! We were so impressed at how organized this event was. An added plus was the free parking. The lines for food/beverages were short and moved fast. There were lots and lots of fire pits available as well as restrooms. The winter market was so fun with some really unique vendors. We would definitely go back. If you haven’t visited Big Rock yet, you need to add it to your bucket list!!!!”

“We found this while looking for a great place to let our service dog play in the water and also cool off. Nice shirt who down to the water, lots of area to spread out with others enjoying the water as well. We could tell the water was lower than normal because of the drought, but we really enjoyed it all the same! Remi really loved her swim!”

“Hiking the Long Lake Loop in the Matanuska Lakes State Recreation Area traverses you through forested and open grassy fields nestled between multiple lakes. The hiking paths have signage to guide you to different trails and lakes. The trail paths are well worn including the paths through the grassy fields. It is recommended to bring bug spray, sunscreen, noise maker/bear spray and stay alert while you enjoy the trails solo or with others. There is a $7 parking fee for day use and machine is located near the restrooms.”

“It is a good park. I only used the playground. However, if your kid is a smaller kid like 2 years old, some steps are too high to get on, and the slide is too steep. Also, beware of the mosquitoes. The trees are gorgeous, but the mosquitos and ants are biting horribly.”

“We held a party at this park. . We cleaned up. Beware of high winds. All are party items blew to the grass. Hmmm.cleaned up again and stored food and party items in vehicles. It grew dark on this cloudy day...waiting for lights to switch on. Time to go. Good nite.”

“It’s a great little campground snuggled in next to the Ohio River. It’s nice and quiet, everyone seems super nice and friendly. It’s got amazing views of the river and gorgeous sunsets. We’ve been here for a few months now. It’s just great. Definitely recommend.”

“This is such an awesome situation all around. Beautiful property in an amazing corner of our incredible country. Wayne and Michael are ideal hosts from start to finish. They are also quite savvy and have experiences and opinions that are worth listing to (and VERY few people do). We could be so lucky to keep coming back periodically as long as we are blessed to have them be the stewards of this amazing home and acreage.”

“For a beautiful, yet family-friendly hike, head to Papago Park. There's a large parking lot with information boards and drinking fountains nearby. Then follow the path to the rocks great for climbing. My wife, six-year-old daughter and I loved the short hike and scramble up the rocks for a beautiful view of the area.”
