“Nice open park that is divided my the road by natural wildlife. There are trails leading to a soccer field, play equipment/playgrounds, basket ball courts and other cool stuff. This is a great place for private weddings or other low key events. This place feels really natural and lends to a memorable organic experience. Worth checking out. The city of Saline is very nice as well. Feels safe.”

“Beautiful surroundings, quiet and idyllic. The scenery was beautiful, saw fish, turtles, lots of birds and a few sounds we thought may have been bigger mammals. The walk is perfect for those who want to experience nature without going too far. Park up and head for a wander. The light just before sunset was amazing.”

“I spent a couple days here and it was fantastic. Some of the sites have a bit of an incline but you can work with it. Lots of bluegill to catch and Silver lake is a short drive away. The pit toilets were clean and maintained. Rent out C11 if you can; it's big and off the main road.”

“The personnel are friendly and willing to help. I bought a camper from them and received 7 Days on their over 250 acre private campsite. Since it's January they gave us the option to leave the camper for the winter and return in May to pick it up un-winterize it and do the full walk through. That way if there were any problems everything could be fixed on-site. I would definitely recommend them as their prices were below other vendors we looked at.”

“My husband and I like to canoe. This park has a canoe ramp, but whenever we are here with our canoe there are people fishing off the ramp. Today we were there with our treats from Flavors and wouldn't you know it, no one was fishing.”

“Trails are marked well. We took the (red/paved trail) lakeside loop and (orange/ gravel trail) killdear loop. I was able to push my (running) stroller well on both loops. There is lots of birds to see. The orange trail would be nice to run on. At the parking area there is a building with a tiny playground.”

“Park right inside the city of Youngstown, Ohio. Beautiful, stunning, bring your cameras, exercise gear, and water bottle. This park has miles of walking trails. Some of the area is smooth the area I was on was rocky. So, might not be best for wheelchairs or baby strollers. Enjoyed my time, would don it again.”

Address: Round Valley Trail, California, USA
“It's hard to imagine thick forests and streams up there when everything at the bottom of the mountains is desert, but it's true. Rode the tram (a wonderful experience in it's own right) to the trailhead, then took the north part of Round Vally Loop to Wellman Divide Trail, headed for Mt San Jacinto. The trail is fairly easy to follow, although large sections of it are rocky. The outbound ascent is fairly steady, nothing terrible. Do remember that you start at 8,400.' If you're not acclimated, this one will be tougher than normal. There are also a number of places where last winters huge snow pack, and subsequent melting, caused wash-outs and scouring. I came to a few spots where the trail seemed to disappear because it simply went over rocky sections. Within 15-20 yards of each of those places, the trail became obvious again. I crossed several stream beds, some of which were still flowing the last week in September, 2023. I did not need my poles for this trail, but was glad I wore boots. I encountered about 20 people (all of whom were pleasant) on this trail, making for a pretty quiet, peaceful experience. I will be back to explore more trails. *****Things to be aware of. It begins getting dark well before normal sunset because you are in a valley. Having a headlamp and/or flashlight is a good idea. A headlamp is best because it leaves your hands free; a good idea on this trail with all the rocky sections. It is much cooler up there than on the valley floor. It was in the 80s on the floor, but 60° at the top of the tram ride. It got even cooler as the day wore on and darkness approached. Finally, you are required to have a free day permit, which you can pick up at the ranger station at the beginning of the trail.”

“Very small place yet fun with loose river rocks all over the place in a good portion of the park. Head to the beginner, intermediate, or intermediate/expert tracks for some dirt bike fun! The intermediate/expert track is where we ended up spending most of our time.”
