“Stopped by to get a run 🏃🏻♂️ in while passing through to CA. The park is big and one lap is about 1 mile. I was there between 830p-915pm and there were still plenty of people walking or playing in the open grass areas. There were also a couple of police cars in the area chatting it up, so I felt safe. Probably a better park to be in during the morning and afternoon, but served it purpose for me. Small parking lot for 10-15 cars, plus plenty of street parking.”

“Good neighborhood park. Primary upkeep is done by the city, but the HOA also does a lot of work keeping the park nice. On the South side there's some walking trails in a lot of trees, the center of the park is backed up to buy houses, and there is several playgrounds in that area, and then the far north side of the park by Shirley Street, has a huge hill perfect for sledding, as well as, a baseball diamond and two tennis courts.”

“Very nice enclosed Pavillion for picking with earthy playground for kids. Hiking area is in the middle of a field of allergy iritating plants and flowers so if you have allergies this may not be the place you would want to go hiking. Trails are wide with plenty of passing room anyone with special needs. Probably the best location I have found so far for star gazing although there is some light pollution from a nearby city ( very minimal ) posted photos were at dusk.”

“Absolutely beautiful trail and park! So many beautiful and cool things to see and explore! Paved trail, easy and accessible for everyone. The playground is a little small but it's still a fun adventure for the kids, especially after walking! Lots of parking, open bathrooms and everything is up kept well! Picnic tables at the end of the trail which is a great place for lunch!”

“We travel the country full-time in a RV. We were staying in the KOA that is walking distance from this park. We really enjoyed bringing our dog to the fenced dog parks to let her run and chase squirrels. We also ran on the paved road for exercise. It gets quite soggy after a rain. The kid playground is well kept. The basketball courts no longer have hoops, just poles. The tennis courts are in sad shape. The picnic shelters are well kept. There was a guy flying a model airplane in the field one day!”

“Excellent beginners hike with STUNNING views of the southern Bay Area. There is ample free parking at the base of the trail. Restrooms and picnic, BBQ areas as well. Park rangers provide good security here. Details regarding the hike and viewpoint follow: It’s approximately 3/4 of a mile uphill with a steep climb. Not too long but you’ll get a great leg workout going up. Once you arrive there is a view point with a looking glass. Plenty of red tailed hawks circling around. Very beautiful area. 1.5 miles round trip and if you want to extend your hike, when you come back down consider taking another one of the adjacent loops nearby. We turned this into a 5 mile hike and great workout. Highly recommended!”

“Dare I say this is the most beautiful park in Columbus? Unmarked trail to the right of the parking lot takes you through a magical pine forest which then leads you down to a beautiful view of the reservoir. Doesn’t feel like Ohio.”

“We had a wonderful time visiting the farm today. Bob shared so many interesting facts and stories from all his travels and time raising wallabies. We each had plenty of time holding the baby wallaby. We visited with the adult wallabies, visited the emu and took a ride around the beautiful property. Many blooming daffodils. I can't wait to visit again.”

“Nice park to take bored kids to run around in while you can sit under the shade and watch them play. Port-a-potties for restrooms. Close to Westchester Medical Center so you can bring the kids here while waiting for someone to be released or while they are at the clinic so they aren't bored in the waiting room. Wish they had a water fountain.”

“Nice out of the way area and as others have mentioned the trail heads could be marked better. Crossed a wooden bridge and ended up on some kind of service road. Went back to the ranger station area and found a little pier over hanging the water. If you follow the entrance road straight ahead a bit and you'll see the sign for Alligator Trailhead. 1/4 mile in it splits into a loop. Full trail is about 1.5 miles. Lots of bugs and mosquitos so be prepared for those. Saw some turtles on their logs. Sign mentions alligators, copperhead and water moccasins in the area but didn't see any of them on my visit.”

“It's a park with grass and park stuff so... It is in an area that does not get much traffic so it is nice for the kids. They just added a playground area. Like most El Paso parks, it lacks shade.”

“My wife and I were delighted to find this location this summer as we looked for a seasonal spot for next year. We were blessed with an opening in mid August of this year that allowed us to "get a feel" for the park before committing to next year. We were pleased to have more social interaction in our first few hours here than we had in 10 weeks at another location we stayed in for the first part of the summer. Overall, it's about 180 sites. Each with ample room to "set up camp". The property includes trails through hundreds of acres of woods, prairie, wetlands, and lakes to explore. Trails can be accessed by golf carts or on foot to see a bounty of wildlife. It's a busy, social, friendly, and active environment on the weekends and quiet during the week with friendly encounters with those who spend weekdays. As manager, Dana is always responsive to questions. Other staff (Shelly, Heidi, Dan, and Mark) are all friendly and very helpful in their areas of work for the campground. The entire team seems very cohesive an focused on serving the Springvale Campground community. Other reviews cite change in ownership, rules, and management. While this can be challenging for some, it's can also enlightening to others. The vision for the future of Springvale Campground may be different from the past, but that isn't necessarily bad. It will come with some pain for a few and adjustments for others. But my impression is that current owners and management is committed to a smooth and gradual plan for the future. We're anxious to see what happens here over the next few years. Thanks for welcoming us to our summer home for the foreseeable future.”

“Hiked from rattlesnake bar parking lot all the way to granite bay horse staging area. It's about 10 miles and not a flat ground hike. There is a good work out by taking this trail but it's so great you got to do it. Getting ready for elk hunt in Colorado and this is perfect training for it. Make a day of it and go do this hike. Bring lunch and lots of water and swim suit because you can take a dip along the way. Enjoy!”

“This was a great little family campground. The tent spaces were on the small side. You are up close and personal with your neighbor. We stayed during the week so we did not have any neighbors. The campground is in the middle of farm land which is so peaceful. There were a lot of activities for the kids. We were there to have a place to stay while going to Cedar Point. This was perfect for that. The bathhouse is well maintained. There were workers attending to new renovations as we stayed. It is great seeing owners keeping the facilities well maintained and improving them.”

“My wife booked us into this campground by mistake. We traveled from Pittsburgh to Kentucky to visit the Ark Encounter. This campground was 1.5 hours South / past the attraction. There were plenty of other campgrounds much closer than this one. As it turned out, this campground worked out fine. Clean, well laid out, well staffed and very friendly are the best ways to describe it. The store was well stocked ( minus fridge Magnets ) and the pool was a comfy 81 degrees warm. The restrooms and showers were well lit and clean. We appreciated the Sunday breakfast of pancakes & bacon for $4.”
