Pioneer Landing Park

Address: 1900 Front St, Sacramento, CA 95811, USA

Park

“It is a lovely place to go. There are great views of the Sacramento River and very nice places to ride your bike or take a walk. I met some very nice people. I was alone but felt safe even when I was quite far down the trail.”

Gird Valley Preserve

Address: Fallbrook, CA 92028, USA

Park

“A pleasant stroll and nice views. The main loop was only a 1.2 miles so not worth going far out of your way for. It's might be a little steep for some and the trails haven't gotten worn in yet, but I'm sure soon they will be nice. The switchback to the left isn't marked well. One must pass to the right of the pipe-gate. It seems like one is parking in the winery, but they have their own parking lot next to Gird and one passes through the winery land to get to the trail.”

Max Berg Plaza Park

Address: 1100 Calle Puente, San Clemente, CA 92672, USA

Park

“This was the biggest playground we found in San Clemente. We enjoyed the shade and polite neighbors.”

Lilac Lane Trail head

Address: 7700 Lilac Ln, Simi Valley, CA 93063, USA

Park

“Lovely, beautiful place. I love the mountains here, and the rocks are interesting. Probably better during the spring when it's green outside, but not bad year round.”

Sugarloaf Park

Address: 44866 Baldwin Ln, Big Bear, CA 92314, USA

Park

“A great place down the street where fun is available for all ages. Took my neice and nephew recently even in the snow and we had a blast. Clean updated area and kids equipment. Great place all seasons. Especially when you can have a family picnic.”

John Combs Park

Address: Visalia, CA 93277, USA

Park

“Very nice, clean park!!”

Campus Park North

Address: 3700 Parkview Dr, Bakersfield, CA 93311, USA

Park

“Great place to bring your kids to play. The playground is really wide open so the kids can actually run around, get some exercise and build up a sweat!!! Traffic is minimal making it safe to even bring your dogs. The only knock on this park is that there are a few people who walk their dogs her that don't pick up after them. They have bags there but I guess some people are just lazy.”

Sea Lion Overlook

Address: 16375 Sir Francis Drake Blvd, Inverness, CA 94937, USA

Park

“It's just a view point on the way. There is a little space to pull over your car and walk down the stairs to view the seal lions below on the rocks. It's too far away for a clear view with naked eyes. I could see only 2 sea lions with a binocular. There is a bench to spend some time admiring the view. But I didn't see any trail going down. Maybe it was temporarily closed. You can take a chance here, but overall not very impressive for viewing sea lions.”

Tahoe Donner Campground

Gold Ledge Campground

Address: Kernville, CA 93238, USA

Campground Lodging Park

“I loved that we had the option of chilling at the water by our site or going to the swimming hole. The water was so chill this year it was an easy innertube ride down the river into the swimming hole. (But most summers I do not recommend going down the river without a life vest.)I jumped off the rock! That was fun! But I highly recommend plugging your nose. I got all waterlogged which made the experience less fun. Campsites are close in proximity but not stacked on top of eachother. The walk-in sites go over seriously rocky terrain making a simple wagon difficult to pull!! They are also very far from the bathrooms.. The plus side of the walk-in sites is privacy from the main road. Especially if you're bad like me and my friends and are noisy late into the night and building small fires hoping no one sees LOL... Nice spot, not too much shade. Bring your canopies, lots of sunblock, and bug spray& centinela candles! The campground host is pretty easy going. There isn't much space for extra cars to park on-site, but there is free parking at the turnout across the road.”

Chula Vista Trailhead

Park

The Wildlands Conservancy Whitewater Preserve

Address: 9160 Whitewater Canyon Rd, Whitewater, CA 92282, USA

“The park is well taken care of and neighbors are very friendly. They have a cute little dog park with supplies to pick up after your pet. The amenities are nice with a laundromat you can control from an app on your phone for convenience. They also have individual shower rooms for privacy. The staff is wonderful and they were so accommodating to us given our trouble with inclement weather. We can’t thank them enough!”

Irvington Park

Address: 41825 Blacow Rd, Fremont, CA 94538, USA

Park

“This park may not be huge but crowded on weekdays because of soccer activities on the turf field. Many of residents can be seen jogging, walking or picnicking and even some yoga or other sports activities. Basket ball court is there close to the picnic area and you can see the kids around here. Almost every part of the park is being used. A lot of parking is available.”

Fuller Park

Address: 560 Jefferson St, Napa, CA 94559, USA

Park

“Beautiful park well groomed. Lots of squirrels romping. Great for walking the perimeter. Nice picnic area & playground. Only 1 problem is the homeless gather after dark then the park becomes a very unsafe place to be or walk through. No police patrols either.”

Veterans Barrington Park

Address: 333 S Barrington Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90049, USA

Park

“Half a block north of Barrington Recreation Center, here’s more tree lined open space to play baseball, soccer and do whatever within reason! A park for people and dogs, there’s also an enclosed dog run at the lower end of the parking lot allowing space for dog walkers and apartment dwellers to go with fun loving pets! The park is on land from the north end of the VA Center and includes a tribute to our military services. There’s paid parking spaces available and temporary street-side bus staging as permitted, with drivers in attendance. A locked portable toilet may be available for team use and paid parking user’s. Otherwise, public restrooms are available during operating hours at the nearby Barrington Recreation Center, just steps away.”

L.A. Live Large Dogs Park

Address: 1005 Chick Hearn Ct, Los Angeles, CA 90015, USA

Park

“Stoked to find this and so thankful for the people who put it together and the community that takes good care of it. Torn between wishing there was a patch of grass and understanding the implications of it with waste and stuff. It'd be great to have a little more shade. Tough mid-day so not easy to chill too long while pup plays. Also, drinking fountain for people too? Big Dog section has a broken faucet right now so bring your own.”

Lake Clementine Trail

Address: 139 Old Foresthill Rd, Auburn, CA 95603, USA

Park

“This trail was well traveled by a lot of people. The first portion of the trail was fairly easy as it was mostly flat. The further you traveled, the more of an incline there is. The last 1/4 of the trail is more downhill until you get to the waterfall. It’s absolutely gorgeous and a nice area to view. I always recommend getting to Auburn by 8 at the latest as parking fills up quickly. Because there is more street parking than some of the other trails, you can expect this trail to contain more people. Parking is $10 and they do have Rangers patrolling and handing out tickets. On the opposite side of the Clementine trail, there is a similar trail with beach access as you will see in the images below”

Alma Park

Address: &, S Meyler St & W 21st St, San Pedro, CA 90731, USA

“It’s a small park with a small playground, but it is very nicely shaded. It also has a few picnic tables and some benches to sit at. Additionally, there is a hill ti climb and two paved paths to ride a bike down. Overall, a decent place for kids to play. The shade is especially nice.”
